Ziad Bahaa El-Din, currently the Chairman of the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority (EFSA), is to be named Egypt’s new prime minister, Ahram reported today. Former IAEA director Mohamed ElBaradei will also be named as vice president. (Al-Ahram, 7 July)

The choice of two liberal politician to lead the new administration represents a striking change from the former Muslim Brotherhood-led government.

Dr. El-Din is a founding member of Egypt’s Social Democratic Party.
He has received his doctorate in financial law from the London School of Economics, his MA in international business from King’s College London and his BA in economics from the American University in Cairo.

    2. You ranting LOSERS need to give up as Iran has proved yet again to be a mature, inclusive, pluralistic and stable hybrid democracy. Even the Zionist media acknowledges that, so why increase your pathetic frustrations and piss against the wind. No very constructive, ghorboonet beram azizam!

So why increase your pathetic frustrations at me with your abusive language?
Or is that the way the "mature, inclusive, pluralistic and stable hybrid democracy" works,by being nefarious and scornful when faced with the truth?

    4. I am sorry if I hurt your sensitive feelings, but was stressing my point with a well worn euphemism which more or less means that you are wasting your energy as Iranian policy or advance will not stop, regardless of wishful thinking. In street vernacular "pissing in the wind" means splashing oneself and only creating more problems. My example was of a generic nature and not directed at you azizam. Just a strong debating point which we all enjoy on this above par blog which Mr. Uskowi has kindly provided for all hamvatans and hasbara ranters to blog on. I sincerely apologize if you have taken my point personally.

    5. I would say that Iranians as a whole have been "pissing in the wind" and "splashing oneself" for 34 long years by allowing this Islamist entity to exist until now. You "azizam" are the type of person known in the Iranian community as a cyber mozdor and apologist of a backward theocratic Islamo fascist regime. There is no need to apologize "azizam" because after all you are just that,a cyber mozdor.

-even the command for brotherhood in the HOLY book AMONG Muslims wont terrify Arabs from their barbarism and loath among themselves!the revolution in Egypt was received with hope in the Muslim world particularly the tolerant segment of the Islamic Nation hoping that for Egypt would normalize its ties with IRAN.
why do Arabs bring their barbarism in Islam?why do they deface the beautiful religion of the Prophets.EGYPT like any other MUSLIM Nation will enjoy real peace if they go back to tolerant Islam.

  4. The funniest thing about the Egyptian and Turkish implosions is that the strategic Iranian position vis a vis the region and Syria have been vindicated again. President Assad is having the last laugh about the collapse of the biggest US/Zionist puppet states in the region.

Turkey's delusional and moronic foreign policy, promoting itself as a role model for the "Muslim world", has received a profound setback and embarassment after the military intervention that unseated Egypt's Islamist president Mohamed Morsi and scared the living daylights out of the regional buffoon Erdogan.

Turkey's Islamic-rooted Justice and Development Party (AKP), which is facing highly destabilizing and most widespread protests in its 10-year tenure, had forged close alliance with Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other Persian Gulf undemocratic western propped monarchies and were trying to weaken Iranian influence in Lebanon,Iraq and Syria. However, both the out of touch US puppet regimes failed to understand the desires, frustrations and longings of their own repressed populations, fed up with US meddling, corruption and completely delusional foreign policy goals.

The Egyptian army's ouster of the country's first democratically elected leader has causd panic in Ankara, which had deluded itself by promoting itself as a regional powerhouse and model of "Islamic democracy" in the Middle East, while a discontented population and restless military waiting in the wings.

The slow combustion meltdown in Egypt and Turkey once again highlights the success of Iranian soft power and stability at home. Iranian foreign policy and defence planner accurately guaged the regional dynamics before throwing their unstinting support behind their Hezbollah and Syrian allies. It was a no brainer for most analysts that weak destabilized failed states like Turkey or Syria could ever unseat President Assad or weaken Hezbollah. The simple demographic dynamics ensured that Iranian allies would prevail. Russia, which like Iran also has excellent intelligence on the region also concluded the same and allied itself with Iran from the start of the foreign created Salafi terror campaign in Syria. President Putin, once again accurately predicted that Egypt is headed towards a civil war and Turkey faces a strong prospect of further destabilization and a possible military coup.

    1. But hold on a minute.Don't you think that the same types of Islamist scum are ruling in Iran? Don't you think that the "Islamic democracy" that the "reformists" are trying to peddle is the same lousy system that the brotherhood wants?
The West has made it clear that they don't want Islamists taking over Syria. But at the same time they wont allow Assad to remain in power. That's why they are helping the secular anti Assad movements.Iran is spending over $500 million a month over Syria.Hezbollah and Iranian security forces are also involved over there in the killing process.

You do not seem to understand that Iran over the last 3 decades has evolved into a pluralistic hybrid democracy and has a very vibrant civil society, free media and youth engagement as was quite obvious in the last Presidential elections. Even the Iranian diaspora waited patiently in lines all over the world to cast their vote as Uskowi's post on expats voting for Rohani objectively stated. Unfortunately, there are some elements, mostly foreign based "Iranians" or the hasbara idiots who seem to have been stuck in a time warp and keep on ranting about "Islamic government" In Iran. You ignoramuses need to get over the FACT that Iran is a 99.9% Muslim country and very family, community and nationalistic oriented to boot. So who do you out of touch simpletons think the vast majority of Iranian are going to vote for?

Another glaring FACT that the adults all over the world realize is that President Assad of Syria also has over 70% support of his people and most of the Salafi cannibal terrorists that are eating hearts, raping and murdering children are foreign recruited thugs from Maghreb, Af-pak and Caucasus. These Takfiri scum simply do not have the capacity or capability to "overthrow" President Assad, as the Syrian military has lived up to its tough reputation and has literally ran them or bombed them out of town. The problem is that US "intelligence" community is full of ignorant, racist morons who are victims of group think and police state snooping who believe the crappola peddled by vested interest frustrated exiles from the region who lead them down the garden path, as we saw in WMD lies on Iraq, underestimation of Afghan resistance and complete failure in reading the "Arab Spring".

US idiotic assessments about Iran are even worse, however, the US is bully and thug but not suicidal and has refused to be goaded by the desperate Zionist mutts into a swan song conflict with Iran. I would sincerely suggest that some of you thoughtless and clueless anti-Iran ranters either visit the region, and particularly Iran, as it is not the same country that your parents or you left before and after the great 1979 revolution. Today's Iran is a rising powerful nation that is a force for stability and moderation in the region. The vast majority of Iranians are satisfied with the system, particularly as they see chaos and anarchy all over the neighborhood from Turkey, Egypt to Af-pak. Iranians have matured into a hybrid democracy that delivers a modicum of economic security and strong national security, hence there will never be a Langley and Whitehall created " Persian Spring" or Dr.Mossedegh type overthrow (operation Ajax), no matter how much pressure is brought to bear on Iran by the US/Zionists. Persian Power is indeed on the rise and well on the way to achieving its manifest destiny as great global power. With some of the world's greatest energy reserves, huge landmass and a highly educated and nationalistic population NOTHING WILL DETER IRAN. IRAN PAYENDEBAD!

  5. Some Muslim Brotherhood soldiers deserting Egypt Army

    Egyptian Military facing increasing desertions

CAIRO — The Egyptian Army is said to be sustaining increasing
desertions amid the crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood.

Islamist sources said soldiers identified with the Brotherhood have been
leaving their units assigned to quell protests by the ousted movement. They
said others have refused orders to fire or use force against the Brotherhood
    demonstrators.

In another development, the grand Mufti of the respected Al-Azhar university has warmed of a civil war after witnesses reported military officers executing conscripts who refused to fire on pro-Morsi demonstrators.

The unraveling military has been unsuccessful in stemming rising casualties from
gun battles throughout Egypt. On July 8, at least 52 people were killed and
422 others injured when US trained Republican Guard units opened fire on praying Morsi supporters. The Egyptian military is also facing armed attackers in the lawless Sinai where many military units have deserted or switched over to the Muslim Brotherhood.

  6. Turkish ships banned from Egypt

Erdogan paying a cost for supporting the Muslim Brotherhood and arming Salafi terrorists in Syria

    6 July 2013 / TODAYSZAMAN.COM, İSTANBUL
More than 200 Turkish truck drivers have been stranded in Egypt after the ouster of President Mohammed Morsi in a military coup on Wednesday.

The Turkish media reported that the drivers are not allowed to leave the country, where violence has not stopped since the coup. A Turkish ship which went to Egypt to bring the drivers back to Turkey was not allowed to dock at Egyptian ports either, reports say.

The Egyptian military forced Morsi out on Wednesday after millions of Egyptians turned out for four days of protests. After its top leaders were targeted with arrest warrants, the Muslim Brotherhood hotly rejected an appeal by the military to take part in forming a new regime. Supporters and opponents of ousted President Morsi fought overnight street battles that left at least 30 dead across the increasingly divided country on Friday.

Morsi's removal follows protests by Egyptians angry over what they see as his efforts to impose control through the Muslim Brotherhood and his failures to deal with the country's many problems.

  7. Actually Egypt is in such a mess that baby face Ziad did not make it to the PM job and for the next few hours US backed military and cosmetic interim presidency moved to whitewash a transition to "civilian rule yesterday" to pacify the angry crowds, appointing the puppet economist Hazem el-Beblawi as prime minister and the internationally known opposition leader, Mohamed ElBaradei, as vice-president.

In a tense atmosphere after the killing of 55 supporters of the deposed president, Mohamed Morsi, and threats of fresh mass protests by his supporters, the army also warned against political "manoeuvring" at a time of instability and anxiety – apparently to forestall more squabbling about other cabinet posts and unraveling security situation.

The real power lies with the US trained and vetted General Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi, a Mobarek clone and the defence minister and armed forces commander who ousted the elected Morsi last week, said in a statement broadcast on state TV that the military was determined to tackle the challenges facing Egypt in "these difficult circumstances". Sisi's message was also a greeting to Egyptians on the occasion of the Muslim Ramadan holiday, which begins today. Most analysts expect the military with funding from Saudi Arabia and other despotic Persian Gulf Arab regimes to remain in power and manipulate the political process. Egypt in its short post independence history has not had a democratic government, with the exception of Morsi and has been under military rule since the overthrow of the monarchy.

    1. The Egyptian military establishment cannot let go of their self-empowered authoritarian tendency to control various processes in the country. As you rightly pointed out, the Egyptian military has had a history of selfishness that has lasted for a very long time. The latest reports say that bits and parts of the armed forces sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood are deserting. For some reason the rates of desertion are higher in the Sinai. There's a certain risk that these events could eventually spiral out of control and turn into a civil war.

    2. Yes, Egypt has been under military rule most of its post-independence era and since 1973. US has played a major role in managing the puppet Egyptian military so that it can not wage war against the Zionists. The Muslim Brotherhood has strong presence in the military and it was them who killed Sadat after he signed the US dictated "peace treaty" with the Zionist entity. Also the Brotherhood won over 47% support mostly in the poorer urban and rural areas. The officer class in Egypt, like the shah's army comes mostly from the westernized upper classes and the rank and file soldiers are uneducated urban youth conscripts or rural fellahin. Like the "Imperial Iranian Military" in 1979, the Egyptian army will simply crack as conscripts desert over switch sides. The US is forcing the Saudis and other petropimps to give Egypt billions in aid, but this will only inflame the Egyptians as they resent interference from the Khaleejis who they hate and consider corrupt inferiors who frequent Cairo's brothels. This is going to be a very unpredictable and unstable situation for a long time. The flames will spread across the Red Sea and Sinai.
