Syrian Prime Minister to Visit Tehran

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said that Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi will visit Tehran in the near future. Mehmanparast made the announcement on Iran’s state Television. (IRIB, 14 January)

Fars News Agency later reported that Prime Minister al-Halqi will arrive in Tehran on Tuesday.

Iran also called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Syria.

“We believe that clashes must end because an increase in conflicts and violence endangers people’s lives and inflicts further losses on the Syrians or the nationals of other countries in Syria,” Mehmanparast said.

“All countries are duty-bound to prepare the grounds so that the Syrian people could express their views in fair elections,” Mehmanparast added.

    2. You children should not be on these blogs since you are clueless and simply post nonsense. The idea if generate mature discussion. BTW, if you look at Zionist media today you will find an air of impotence and fright. It is no secret that Iran and Egypt are rapidly improving ties, and that incluedes intelligence and military. The Arabs are very impressed by Iran's steadfast stand in support of its Syrian allies and the IRGC superb performance in the region. The net result is a stronger Syria more closely allied to Iran and the Syrian military which is battle hardened and cohesive. As the grown-up posted here before, NOT EVEN A COMPANY (200 men) OF SYRIAN SOLIDERS DEFECTED. This was an amazing achievement of Syrian militaty training and nationalism. On the plus side, Bashar al Assad got rid of all the weakling traitors within the regime like the Tlas son who ran to his masters in Paris. Hezbollah will also come out much stronger and influential in the region. Please read the Zionist disinformation mouthpice below and sulk:

Despite US efforts, no Egypt-Israel “hot line.” Cairo hosts Gen. Soleimani

Instead, Eyyptians were busy entertaining distinguished Iranian guests. debkafile’s intelligence sources report the first was Revolutionary Guards Al Qods Brigades commander, Gen. Qassem Soleimani, who paid a secret visit to Cairo last month, followed last Wednesday, Jan. 11, by Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akhbar Salehi.

It seems that President Mohamed Morsi has become a fan of Gen. Soleimani. He was deeply impressed by the feat he masterminded of keeping Syrian ruler Bashar Assad in power against all odds. The Iranian general was invited to Cairo to give Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood expert advice on keeping their regime safe from internal and external conspiracies.

Washington was disturbed most of all to discover that Qatar was the live wire which egged Cairo on to open up to friendship with Tehran. The Qataris oiled the works by promising cash-strapped Egypt a long-term loan of $2 billion on top of the first like amount extended last year. Both Washington and Jerusalem are baffled by Qatar’s inconsistency – on the one hand, robustly supporting the Syrian rebellion for the overthrow of Bashar Assad, Tehran’s closest ally, while furthering Iran’s drive to win over Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and expand its influence in the Arab world, on the other. How does this square with the new pro-US Sunni Muslim axis including Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, which American diplomats negotiated along with the Gaza ceasefire deal in November? Could Qatar be playing a double game by building a second bloc along with Egypt and Iran?
Qatar’s motivations are vitally important to Israel because its rulers are already spreading tentacles smoothed by heavy cash infusions deep into the Palestinian power centers of Gaza and the West Bank.
By working for détente with Iran, Egypt and Qatar could end up opening the Palestinian back door for Tehran to walk through in both territories. This prospect was behind Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s recent warnings that Hamas could land with both feet in the West Bank in a matter of days.

  3. DEBKAfile January 14, 2013, 11:02 PM (GMT+02:00)
Syrian rebel leaders admitted Monday Jan. 14, that Assad's army had forced them to retreat from the big Taftanaz air base in the north. DEBKAfile: They never seized the entire base as they claimed - only a small part of it.

    Long live Iran
    Long Live Syria
    Longf Live President AL Assad

    2. You are absolutely CORRECT. The brave and cohesive Syrian military has indeed won the day as most of the grown-ups had predicted. The Salafi terrorists alienated the whole Syrian population by rapes, murder and looting. The Syrian military remained professional and took a stage by stage approach in eliminating these terrorists, who are now demoralized and on the run. Iran's steadfast support played a decisive factor in Syrian victory. The release of Iranian hostages gave a glimpse of Iranian influence and excellent human intelligence HUMINT on the ground in Syria. The demographic FACT is that the Persian Gulf wahabbi petro-pimps never had a chance since they simply don't have the manpower to take on Syria, let alone Iran. Only Egypt with 85 million people can act militarily in the region and it is not about too and is improving relations with Iran. Turkey is a basketcase with massive internal problems with 20 million Alevi-Shias and 18 million Kurds seeking independence. Iran is on a WINNER here.

A big kudos to the courage of the Syrian military and long live President Assad.

  5. This is a visit to exchange ideas amongst allies and partners. The brave Syrian military is now on the offensive and has retaken almost all the villages in the north lost to Salafi terrorists. Russia yesterday publicly announced that is is "IMPOSSIBLE" to overthrown the legitimate government of President Assad. Anyway, the NATO hyeanas are now moving on to new killing grounds in Africa where the Jihadis will follow next. The imbecile incomptetent French already have a bloody nose in Somalia and Mali will turn into a quagmire. The NATO/Wahabbi misadventure in Syria is coming to an end, so move on folks. A big win for Iran and its allies. Well done Syria, Iran, Russia, China, India and most of the free world.

    2. Even most independent "western" polls give 80% majority support to Assad. If he did not have support he would not have lasted more than a week like Mobarek, Ghaddafi and Ben Ali in Tunisia. The FACT is that President Assad like his honourable father has widespread support in Syria, particularly amongst the educated Sunni majority, Christians, Druze, Kurds and obviously the 20% Alevi-Shias. There was never a doubt that he would have prevailed anyway, however Iran, Russia, China and majority of global support also helped. This has been a disaster for the Persian Gulf petro-pimps and their NATO masters. The elan and espirit de corps of the proud and unbowed Syrian military is beyond question. They will now wipe out the Salafi terrorists in a grid pattern methodical cleansing operation.

    3. The reason why Assad is still in power is because Hezbollah and IRGC units with blood money stolen from the Iranian people via the mullahs are mass murdering civilians by the hundreds every day.
The 80% majority are Sunni,so why should they support the 15% Alevi regime?

It is the likes of you who fuel and encourage sectarianism. You want to see division between minorities. You embellish in the idea of strife along ethnical lines -- as do all Islamo-facists, particurarly the ones that originate from the Arabian peninsula. It doesnt mean that Sunni Syrians are against Assad just because they are Sunnis. The fact that the majority of the Syrian population are Sunnis is completly irrelevant and used as a bad excuse by your ilk. The consensus and answer on the issue of who should grab power in Syria lay in a nationwide election. It's both immoral and wrong to cheer on these various regional players that want to have things done their way. Don't trust any of them, because each party has its own ulterior motives. The worst thing that can happen is that the Jihadis succeed in ousting Assad, and a group of stooges get shipped in, whom haven't lived in Syria for decades, and who do not understand the desire of the Syrian people. And in no time you will have a Mubarak slowly creeping out of the woodwork.

Or worse yet, the Jihdis won't be allowed to establish their dream Caliphate replete with Sharia laws (cause remember, the NTC members have said that they won't work with Jhabat Al Nusra & other AL-Qaeda affiliates), so they turn on their former partners in crime, those few secular fighting elements that are within the FSA (cause keep in mind, the owerwhelming majority of the FSA is made up of Jihadi radicals now, due to the huge influx). And what you will have then is never ending violence and bloodshed. Do you honestly think that such an event would signify a genuine power-shift within the country? It would count as fraud, a debacle of humongous proportions. You would never have known what the Syrian people wanted. Only they can reveal who they truly want as their leaders.

"The 80% majority are Sunni,so why should they support the 15% Alevi regime?"

This is how backward and sectarian some of the so-called democracy promoters for Syria are. You should know the majority of the SAA is composed of Sunni Syrians who support Assad and have done so for nearly 2 years of warfare. And by every indication, there is no evidence at all that the majority of Syrians do not support the current government one form or another. You can probably thank the thuggery of the FSA for that.

"are mass murdering civilians by the hundreds every day."

Give it a break, will you? No one can possibly take you seriously.

    7. Assad's regime doesn't "give it a break" when it comes to murdering the Syrian citizenry.
Don't just take my word for it. Look at the daily news, because it is plastered all over the place.
So looks like no one possibly takes you seriously, because the evidence contradicts your shallow and biased point of view.

When FSA rats hide in civilian buildings, civilian deaths are inescapable. Mind you, those accusing Assad of murder, massacres, and genocide and used as sources in western media is often the FSA itself! The FSA can show a simple Youtube video of dead bodies on the ground (sometimes fake, or FSA terrorists killed in action being portrayed as civilians), claim it was the SAA who murdered them without a shred of evidence, and then folks like yourself believe them, but when the FSA is caught red-handed massacring Syria civilians, they must have been shabiha government-collaborators, or western media claims something along the lines of "FSA supposedly/apparently behind the atrocity."

Here's just one example of FSA lies and poor western journalism:

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lWB5ssifTg

You tried to pass Assad and the army as sectarian, when it's the FSA that has been slaughtering Alawites, Druze, and Christians. It doesn't matter to you that polls have shown that more than half the country supports the current government in one form or another. Nor does it occur to you that Syria with a reformed constitution would be infinitely better for Syrians than a Syria run by gangs of terrorists and thugs.
