Syrian PM in Tehran


Syrian Prime Minister Wael Nader al-Halqi has arrived in Tehran on a two-day state visit. The prime minister is accompanied by 10 government officials, including ministers of oil and finance.

During his stay in Tehran, al-Haligi is expected to hold talks with senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamnei.

Iran is a staunch supporter of Assad regime. Foreign ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast on Monday called for the cessation of hostilities in Syria.
