IRGC and Basij Force Conducts Joint Exercise in Tehran

'To Jerusalem' Drill Involves Hostage Rescue

IRGC-Basij Force elite rapid reaction units on Thursday concluded the first day of three-stage exercises in a southern Tehran suburbs. The exercises are code named Ela Beit-ul Moqadas (“To Jerusalem”). [Fars News Agency, 19 October]

The highlight of the daylong event on Thursday was a drill to free large number of hostages in a paramilitary confrontation with the enemy. Currently the Free Syrian Army is holding dozens of IRGC and Basij officers hostage inside Syria.

    Or preparation of Basig and IRGC units for upcoming anti regime riots throughout Iran.

  5. "Toward Jerusalem"...Can someone explain to me why any self-respecting Iranian would care about Jerusalem, or anything to do with Israel, one way or the other?

The second guy on the motorbike with a mortar on his shoulder - Good luck, using that thing, frankly it is impossible and even if by some miracle he was able to reload that mortar 'on the move' it is still very dangerous for him and his mate! Firing that thing in that position would rip his shoulder open! Such incompetence!!! Sigh...
