Quds Force Commander Denies Presence of Advisors in Syria – Al Arabiya

Al Arabiya reported today that IRGC’s Quds Force Commander Maj. Gen. Qasem Soleimani has told the network that members of his force are not deployed as advisors to Syria or Lebanon. On Sunday, Maj. Gen. Aziz Jafari, the IRGC commander and Qasemi’s nominal boss, had told reporters in Tehran that members of the Quds Force are indeed working as advisors in Syria.

According to Al Arabiya, Gen. Qasemi has also told the network that the Quds Force (QF) is not present in any foreign countries and does not interfere in other countries’ internal affairs. Qasemi has also told Al Arabiya that Gen. Jafari had never said that QF advisors are in Syria or Lebanon, and the quotations from him reported in the media were "fabricated."

Note: Jafari’s remarks about the presence of QF advisors in Syria were made in a packed press conference and widely reported by Iranian official and semi-official news agencies and major Iranian newspapers and radio and television networks and foreign news organizations present there. What is going on?

Quds Force was created to operate outside Iran, in countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Lebanon and to be the liaison with foreign Islamic movements such as Hezbollah and Hamas. The QF commander is now denying their presence in any foreign country. What’s going on?

  1. This is starting to sound like the movie 1984, facts and history revised routinely as if it never Happened.

It would be easier to try to understand, if the regime would say the general misspoke, rather than his comments were fabricated.

  2. Whats going on? Nothing is going on! Except that obviously this interview is fabricated.

Al Arabiya is a well known US-Saudi propaganda outlet used to counter the propaganda of the Lebanese-Iranian Al Manar.

There is nothing more to it.

In fact Iran is living proof that 1984 is real.

The Islamic regime said a number of months ago that Syria is the "red line" or defensive line of the Islamic "republic".
That statement alone should tell us that they have presence of "advisers" (troops)there. That is what's going on.

Not according to the Syrian rebels who claimed that there is no proof of Quds Force operating in Syria.

Correction, the situation in Iran is much worse than in the film 1984.
Because the country is controlled by a gang of armed religious zealots.

I live in Iran as well.
