Khamenei: Threats Answered with Threats

Israel Threatens Military Action

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned today that Iran would retaliate for sanctions aimed at Iran's oil exports and any attacks on the country, answering “threats with threats.”

“Threatening Iran and attacking Iran will harm America ... Sanctions will not have any impact on our determination to continue our nuclear course ... In response to threats of oil embargo and war, we have our own threats to impose at the right time,” said Ayatollah Khamenei during his sermons at Friday Prayer in Tehran.

Khamenei also said Iran will help any nation or group that confronts Israel, calling it a "cancer."

“I have no fear of saying that we will back and help any nation or group that wants to confront and fight against the Zionist regime (Israel),” Ayatollah Khamenei said.

“We have intervened in anti-Israel matters, and it brought victory in the 33-day war by Hezbollah against Israel in 2006, and in the 22-day war,” he added. “From now on, in any place, if any nation or any group confronts the Zionist regime, we will endorse and we will help.”

He continued that Israel is a “cancerous tumor that should be cut and will be cut.” [IRNA, 3 February].

Meanwhile, the US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta today refused to comment on a report by Davis Ignatius of the Washington Post that Panetta believes there is a “strong likelihood” that Israel will attack Iran in April, May or June.

Today, Israel’s Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the international sanctions have not been effective in stopping Iran’s nuclear program and the window of opportunity to take military action is closing rapidly.

  2. US and its Zionist masters are deluded beyond their impotent bluster and bluff to think that Iran will cave-in to the daily barking. The rabid Zionist mutts have a thing coming if they think they can goad the dumb Islamophobic rednecks into a suicidal war with Iran.

We have hearing these Zionist yelps for 34 years and I am 100% certain that the Zionists know that they will simply disappear if they even dream of "attacking Iran". Just more Zionist posturing as Iran is ready for anything.

  3. 'IRAN LAUNCHES MASS-PRODUCTION OF CRUISE MISSILE'
    Sat Feb 4, 2012 11:31AM GMT

Iran has launched the mass-production of the Zafar (Triumph) marine cruise missile for delivery to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) naval forces.

“Zafar is a radar-controlled, short range torpedo with the capability to destroy small and medium targets with high precession,” Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi said at the inaugural ceremony Saturday, the fourth day of the 10-Day Dawn celebrations marking the 33th anniversary of the victory of Iran's Islamic Revolution in 1979.

The product, which has been designed and manufactured by Iranian experts, can be mounted on various kinds of light and speedy vessels, Vahidi said, adding it enjoys high capability in anti-electronic warfare.

In April 2011, Vahidi announced that the country had successfully test-fired the home-made Zafar missile, adding they are "the fastest cruise missiles in the world".

"These missiles can, together with other systems, substantially boost the country's defense capabilities,” the general noted.

  4. What they mean by "mass production" is one unit a month.
    Hardly earth shattering.

  5. 'ISRAEL NO MATCH FOR IRAN MILITARY MIGHT'
    Sat Feb 4, 2012 3:39PM

A senior political analyst condemns Israel's “apartheid” policies in the occupied Palestine territories and says Tel Aviv will never be able to match Iran's military might and capabilities, Press TV reports.

“…the reality on the ground is that Iran is a very powerful country and its response [to a military attack] will be severe and punishing and the Israelis are no match for the Iranians,” Tehran University Professor Mohammad Marandi told Press TV in an exclusive interview on Friday.

He stressed that if Tel Aviv makes a “foolish decision” to launch an attack on Iran, this will “unify [regional people] behind Iranians” and the pro-US regimes “will become much weaker and they may lose control over their authoritarian states.”

  6. Khamenei should be more concerned about his own neck instead of playing the international statesmen.
The regime he is leading is doomed to destruction therefore he wrongly sees the salvation of the regime through an attack by the US.
Either way the regime is eventually doomed.

  9. 'US MEDIA HYPE OVER IRAN MIRRORS FALSE CLAIMS ON IRAQ: US LAWMAKER'
    Sun Feb 5, 2012 5:40AM GMT

The coverage of Iran's nuclear issue in the US media is reminiscent of the hype over false claims regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that set the grounds for a US invasion of the country in 2003, an American lawmaker says.

“The media coverage on Iran is mirroring the coverage in the lead-up to the Iraq war, grand claims about a smoking gun that doesn't exist,” said US Congressman Dennis Kucinich in an article published in the Huffington Post.

Kucinich warned that, “The potential consequences of treading on that same path with Iran are grave... Military action against Iran would be disastrous for the region and for US moral standing.”

The US congressman called for a “serious diplomatic” approach “based on mutual trust and respect” as “the only way” to resolve Tehran's nuclear issue.

  10. Zionist entity may have "300 bombs" but is smaller than metro-Tehran and with an imported population of 5 million that will run back to the ghettos of Eastern Europe if shove comes to push. Stick with reality and perhaps your ignorant ilk may learn a thing or two. Zionists in OCCUPIED PALESTINE are indeed a one bomb job, let alone 300.LOL.

  11. Anon 2:21 ----"one bomb job"

Iran would drop a nuclear bomb on Israel which would kill all the Palestinians just as much as it would kill Israelis?

and somehow this would be worth the total destruction of every bit of Iran and every person inside Iran?

My friend your spot on.If Iran drops a nuclear bomb on Israel Palestinians will be killed as well.
This Islamist clan think it's worth killing a few million people for the sake of their warped beliefs.
Israel doesn't want a war against Iran but somehow these people insist on it and delude themselves into thinking they will win it, but they won't.

  13. Some of the one-dimensional Iran haters failed to understand that it is the Zionist parasites that have been threatening Iran for the past 34 years.

The Zionists know that their hegemony over tribal, divided fuedal Arabs will be threatened if Iran was nuclear armed and their illegal occupation of Palestine will face a serious challenge. much needed Nukes in Iranian arsenal would be a great EQUILIZER. This is a MUST HAVE for Iran.

Zionist warmongering and Iranophobia has nothing to do with Iranian nukes but it is all about regional hegemony and OIL.

Iran will not be cowed by these hollow and cowardly Zionist barks. Even the dimwit Nothing Yahoo is backtracking on his empty threats now.

I don't suppose Israel has an army armed with 20000 missiles across Iran's border have they ?
It's the Islamic regime and Jew haters like you who are constantly baiting Israel to attack with your xenophobia and twisted flat earth mentality.
You should take a good look at yourself in the mirror sometimes. You might not like what you see.
