Iran: Obama Has Called for Direct Talks with Tehran

Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency quoting a conservative member of the Majlis reported today that US President Barack Obama has called for direct talks with Iran in a confidential letter sent to the country’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The report refers to the same letter in which the president had warned Tehran against closing the Strait of Hormuz. The New York Times had revealed only this part of the letter on Friday.

If accurate, the report of the US readiness to start direct talks with Tehran is very significant. Such talks, presumably at a senior level, could significantly lower the rising tensions between the two countries and put to end talks of military conflict with Iran.

  3. So Jimmy Carter oops sorry!
Obama wants to talk to Khomeini oops sorry ! Wants to talk to Khamenei?
Remember the 444 days Mr Obama?
Your mentor Jimmy Carter should tell you a few things regarding that regime.Perhaps just like Carter which dispatched 8 billion dollars to the regime to release the hostages you will have to bribe the regime with 80 billion dollars this time.
Hold on a minute the regime was offered 100 billion dollars by the gulf Arabs in 1982 to stop hostilities towards Saddam but the regime declined the offer then 6 years after the regimes ass was whopped by Saddam Mr Khomeini drank a poison chalice (which he should've drank before 1979 to save Iran from the demonolatry).
Also bear in mind Farce news oops!
Sorry again.Fars news agency is known for their whoopers.

  7. Good for Obama!
In the language of the Islamic republic, to agree to direct talks with the great satin comes with significant internal humiliation and weakening of the regime.
The regime has made antagonism to the united states their political platform for over 30 years, so the president is simply giving them an opportunity o lose face to save their skin.
President Obama is no carter, look at his decision to send troops to the heart of Pakistan to kill bin laden, that's hardly a carter like behavior.
Ps. The president was so committed to total secrecy of the bin laden operation that he didn't even tell his wife about it. You really have to be, cold heartedly, goal oriented to do something like that.

irans government has always wanted to negotiate, they have tried at every opportunity of course negotiations have never got anywhere because the US never changed its policies in a postive way like when iran accepted the turkish and Brazil nuclear deal which the US supported the US then changed there minds and refused to negotiate

  10. Even the Zionist pip-squeaks are out of their hollow puffing now. It is time to finally get real and recognize that Iran is a bridge too far.

If Obama needs to free himself of AIPAC and Zionist/Jews yoke he really needs to reach out to Iran as it holds the key to the Middle-East and world peace. The Ayrab petro-pimpdoms really ain't worth a squat. Time to pow wow with the super mullahs.
