UAE Pipeline to Bypass Strait of Hormuz

The Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP) project, a 480-km pipeline with a capacity of up to 2.5 million barrels per day (bpd), is nearly complete, with first oil to flow in December, Reuters reported today.

ADCOP will bypass the Strait of Hormuz and carries Abu Dhabi’s Murban crude to the oil terminal in Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman.

“There's a hurry to get this (pipeline) operational as the noises about an attack on Iran gets louder," an official told Reuters.

The four-mile wide Strait of Hormuz, situated between Iran and Oman, is the most important oil transit channel in the world, with some 15.5 million barrels or about a third of all sea-borne oil passing through, including crude from Iran, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait as well as UAE, and LNG from Qatar.

China’s Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation is the contractor for the pipeline. There are also plans to build a large oil refinery in Fujairah, with a goal of completion in mid-2016.

  1. They can build entire cities mega airports gas and oil terminals within a blink of an eye and Iran with its so called glorious revolution struggles to be third rate among the region while rapidly falling behind.
Yet you have some smart asses who come on this blog and claim that Iran is independent and that is the price that should be paid which as we all know to be absolutely false and is in the realm of propaganda and total fiction.
Pretty soon the world will bypass Iran and then the regime with its concrete wall around the country and cloaked in total ignorance can go to it's Friday prayers thanking Allah that they have managed to survive for so long and praying for another day so that they can continue to rape and pillage the nation until there is absolutely nothing left to take.

  2. LOL...Who advises these people? Just looked up the complex again online, and it's a fat, quacking, sitting duck if I ever saw one. Congratulations to the UAE pimpdom for providing Iran with a target rich environment in the case of war. Iran wouldn't even have to hit it, the expats running home would make the place inoperable, lol.

  6. Gift---what war? UAE is going to war with Iran?

or do you mean that Iran thinks that it can attack states without cause?

In any case, it's no fatter a target than is Iran's oil and gas fields, pipelines and ports.
What IS different is that the UAE will be financially and technically able to rebuild----iIran not be able to do so...if it's still under present management after a war.

Rubbish. Iran have the resources to rebuild it if they want to.

  9. ---Iran have the resources to rebuild it if they want to.---

yeah? then why is it that Iran can barely build a refinery for gasoline and why is it that the gasoline is sub-standard?

and if Iran does get into a position where it's oil and gas field production facilities are destroyed....and manages to rebuild some of them....how long before the replacements get bombed into scrap and puddles?

Iran's regime is simply too weak to fight a real war... and survive the damage to the nation.
