My Joys, the latest album by Iranian-born Israeli
diva Rita, is sung entirely in Persian. It went gold in Israel in just
three weeks, and it has become very popular among the youths in Iran.
Israel and Iran can at last agree on one thing: Rita rocks!
Rita Jahanforuz was born in Tehran in 1962,
but migrated to Israel along with her family at the age of eight. In 1985, Rita
erupted onto Israeli music scene and has since gone to become one of Israel’s top
recording artists. Releasing an album entirely in Persian raises some
eyebrows among the conservatives in Israel, but My Joys has propelled her
to become a sensation in Iranian underground music scene.

Excellent singer and shows what Iranians could do without religious bigots interfering in their lives.
